Yamaha YZF-R125 Service Manual: Checking the crankshaft
1. Measure:
- Crankshaft runout
Out of specification
Replace
the crankshaft, bearing or both.
NOTE:
Turn the crankshaft slowly.
2. Measure:
- Big end side clearance
Out of specification
Replace
the crankshaft.
3. Measure:
- Crankshaft width
Out of specification
Replace the crankshaft.
3. Measure:
- Crankshaft width
Out of specification Replace the crankshaft.
4. Check:
- Crankshaft sprocket
Damage/wear
Replace the
crankshaft. - Bearing
Cracks/damage/wear
Replace the
crankshaft.
5. Check:
- Crankshaft journal
Scratches/wear
Replace the
crankshaft. - Crankshaft journal oil passage
Obstruction
Blow out with
compressed air.
Removing the crankshaft
1. Remove:
Crankshaft "1"
NOTE:
Remove the crankshaft with the crankcase
separating tool "2".
Make sure the crankcase separating tool is
centered over the crankshaft.

Installing the crankshaft
1. Install:
Crankshaft "1"
NOTE:
Install the crankshaft with the crankshaft installer
pot "2", crankshaft installer bolt "3", adapter
(M12) "4" and spacer (crankshaft installer) "5".

Installing the front wheel (disc)
1. Install:
Front brake disc
NOTE:
Be sure to install the front brake disc with the
arrow mark "a" on the disc facing out.
Tighten the brake disc bolts in stages and in a
crisscross pattern.
2. Check:
Front brake disc
Refer to "CHECKING THE FRONT BRAKE
DISC" on page 4 ...
Installing the engine
1. Install:
Engine "1"
Engine mounting bolt (rear lower side) "2"
Engine mounting nut (rear lower side) "3"
Engine mounting bolt (rear upper side) "4"
Engine mounting nut (rear upper side) "5"
Engine mounting bolt (front side) "6"
Engine mounting nut (front side) "7"
NOTE:

and discharge quickly. The electrolyte
level, battery lead connections and
breather hose routing should be
checked before each ride and at the intervals
specified in the periodic maintenance
and lubrication chart.
