Installing the engine
1. Install:

Engine mounting bolt (rear lower side) "2"
Engine mounting nut (rear lower side) "3"
Engine mounting bolt (rear upper side) "4"
Engine mounting nut (rear upper side) ...

Troubleshooting
Any of the following fail to light: headlight, high beam indicator light,
taillight, license plate light, auxiliary
light or meter light.
NOTE:
Before troubleshooting, remove the following part(s):
1. Seats
2. Fuel tank

Checking the speed sensor
1. Check:
Speed sensor output voltage
Out of specification → Replace.
a. Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
speed sensor coupler (wire harness end) as
shown.
Positive tester probe
gray "1"
Negative tester probe
gray/black "2"
b. Set the main switch to "ON".

Checking the camshaft
1. Check:
Camshaft lobes
Blue discoloration/pitting/scratches
Replace
the camshaft.
2. Measure:
Camshaft lobe dimensions "a" and "b"
Out of specification Replace
the camshaft.
3. Check:
Camshaft oil passage
Obstruction Blow out with
compressed air. ...
